4th UpDate on Hepatology Course
Hepatology 2017 – A panoramic view
You are cordially invited to participate to the 4th UpDate on Hepatology Bucharest Course, organized by the Romanian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (SRGH), Fundeni Clinical Institute (ICF) and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF) „Carol Davila” Bucharest, on 6th-7th of April 2017 at Crowne Plaza Hotel Bucharest.
Held every year, our EASL endorsed course has achieved great popularity and became a major educational event in the field of hepatology in our country.
With the theme „Hepatology 2017 – A panoramic view“, the meeting will be focused on the latest updates related to hepatitis B and C, liver cancer, liver cirrhosis, NASH, alcoholic, autoimmune and genetic liver disease.
As in previous years, we remain confident to the scientific format organized in plenary sessionson very actual topics, integrating translational data with clinical aspects. The Scientific Committee has carefully selected seven plenary sessions structured around relevant topics for clinical practice with direct relevance to patient care: Challenging issues in hepatitis B and C, Alcoholic & non-alcoholic liver disease, Hepatocellular carcinoma, Special issues in cirrhosis, Autoimmune and genetic liver disease. as well as an Original Research Forum plenary session encouraging personal communication on basic and translational reasearch in hepatology. On account of their popularity in previous years, the parallel case-based Workshops, enabling interactivity and practical case-based discussions, will still be an integral part of this year’s program.
You can find in the scientific format a Poster Section, young attendees being invited to present the results of their basic and translational research, competing for one of the three awards that the Scientific Committee has established. In addition, the Satellite Symposia section will complement the scientific programme offering a quick exposure to the state of research in the Industry.
Over the 2-day course you will have the unique opportunity to hear a series of outstanding presentations given by renowned international, distingueshed experts, then interact and discuss informaly with them during the sessions, workshops and breaks between sessions.
Our educational aims remain to deliver updated knowledge, to share opinions and clinical experience, to build collaborative projects and to stimulate the implementation of an evidence-based approach, in order to ultimately improve the care and outcome of many people who suffer from liver diseases in Romania.
Finally, we would like to thank all those contributing to the 2017 meeting – the faculty, the organizing institutions, our generous sponsors and last but not least the participants, who have shown interest for the meeting agenda and give us the sense of this educational event.
On behalf of my co-directors, Anca Trifan and Ioan Sporea, I hope you will enjoy the meeting, the location – the cultural, historical and scenic Bucharest in spring, just before the Orthodox Easter, learn a lot, interact with experts and colleagues, and build further collaboration.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Bucharest
